I can’t believe it’s a year since we moved in to the Le 15 kitchen. Sometimes, it feels like I've been working here for years and other times I can't believe how fast time flies! I still remember the very first macarons I made...and the thousands thereafter.
This action packed year has made me laugh, cry, stress, rejoice, dance, cry some more but more than anything it has been a great learning experience (the kind of stuff they never teach you in any business school!). Although I did face several problems and some lessons were learnt the hard way, they have only made me stronger and I choose to be my optimistic self and look at the wonderful things that happened last year.
Some of the many highlights: The opening of the stores at Worli and Goodearth, doing a photo shoot for a feature in Vogue (what an experience!), baking thousands of goodies day after day, making macarons for Louis Vuitton and Chanel (and several other fashion houses in the country), being recommended by CNNgo Best Eats (2010), receiving the Mid-day Guide Award for being South Bombay's Authentic French Patisserie and the one dearest to my heart; seeing my dad’s face once he read this article in Hindustan Times.
The reason I could do any of this is because of the strong support system at home, my loving staff , great friends and of course lots and lots of love from all of you! So, a big big hug saying thanks to each and every one of you!
Ok, enough with the mush, let me tell you how we celebrated our birthday!
We decided to shut the kitchen for once, get on a bus and drive to my brother's beautiful restaurant Oye Punjabi ! If you haven't already been there, you definitely HAVE to go. We sang, danced, played games, ate the most luscious kulchas with amritsari chole (and dal, butter chicken, garlic naan and malai kulfi) and came back happy and ready to take on our 2nd year! Watch out- we have lots coming up!!!
Oye Punjabi is located in Talauli Naka, Opposite Bharat Petroleum Padga, Padga, Mumbai - Nashik Highway (NH 3).
