Mango Love

Every year around this time I start getting a bit restless. The only good thing about summers in the city is the arrival of my beloved Mangoes!

When I was away from home, every summer, my parents would send me a case of mangoes and you have no idea how much joy they brought me. My friends never understood the mad reaction that followed once the mangoes reached my doorstep.

The box would be ripped open and I would stare at the most gorgeous fruit and sigh. I never threw the box or the bed of hay in which they lay. Every hour I would open the fridge and inhale their sweet aroma. For weeks we would have mango milkshake, mango ice cream, mango cheesecake, mangoes and cream...you get the point.

Mangoes, to me, signify the beginning of long summer holidays (well, they used to anyways!). Now, I’m happy to incorporate them in my menu and create things that will hopefully make you love them as much as I do!
