While we at Le 15 Patisserie love sugar we are sensitive to the fact that many people either cannot or even choose not to use too much sugar in their diets. That should not mean, however, that one should not be able to treat oneself to the finer things in life—desserts and chocolates! So for all you sugar handicapped people out there who cannot resist letting your fork sink into a delicious and seductive dessert, or for all of you who just don’t have the intense love affair with sugar that we do, see below for a wonderful sugar-free recipe that will make your mouth water and allow you to indulge…
100 g Sugar free dark chocolate
85 g Fresh cream
1 tsp Vanilla essence
1 cup Un-sweetened whipping cream
5 tbsp Splenda
Add the sugar-free dark chocolate, fresh cream, and the one teaspoon of vanilla essence into a bowl.
Put the bowl with the chocolate, cream and vanilla essence mixture over a pot of water on the double broiler. Remember to never put chocolate directly on a stove because it burns easily.
Gently whisk the ingredients.
Once the chocolate melts properly into the cream add Splenda to the mixture.
Whisk the unsweetened whipping cream in a bowl. You can also use a hand blender here. Continue this action until the cream has stiff peaks.
Add the chocolate/cream/Splenda mixture to the whipped cream and whisk.
Set the chocolate mousse by pouring into small individual bowls and place in the refrigerator for at least two hours.
If you are serving your chocolate mousse at a dinner party it is always fun to garnish with some strawberries or dark chocolate flakes! Also as a side note--this recipe is gluten-free and eggless--a universal dessert for any eater!
