No doubt we do love the traditional desserts from rich dark chocolate mousse to flour-less gooey chocolate cake, from strawberry cheesecake to a mango custard tart, but how about you mix it up a bit and try the dessert-shot-- a new innovative and slightly sinful concept to hit the dessert world-- excite your sweet-tooth and get in the mood to party!

I first heard about the concept of the dessert-shot from the new upcoming restaurateur in Manila, Philippines, Vinnie Genomal. He recently opened a restaurant in Manila called Toro. Toro's cuisine is part Mexican and part Japanese; Genomal cleverly named Toro for its double meaning: bull in Spanish and tuna belly in Japanese. Genomal wanted to introduce something different to the culinary word, something a little decadent, something a little spunky, something a little naughty.

Now take yourself back to the end of the dinner party where you and your friends need a little bit of an incentive to get you out the door....

Dessert Shot Menu:




1) Strawberry Cheesecake -

1/2 oz. Orange Juice
Whipped Cream

look pretty)

1/4 oz. Soda
1 tsp. Vanilla Ice Cream
(top it off with a little mint
and a slice of apple)















3) Snicker Doodle
1 oz. Irish cream
1/4 oz. Butterscotch schnapps
1/2 oz. Tequila
(just for kicks add some chocolate
sauce on top)














4) Muddy Mint Slide
1/2 oz. Vodka
1/4 oz. Baileys
1/4 oz. Kahlua
1/2 oz. Creme de menthe
